Electricity price optimisation

Electricity does not have the same value at every moment.

Energy costs are not determined by annual consumption alone. The time of consumption, power, own generation and the contractual terms for purchasing electricity also matter.

BESS – Battery Energy Storage System makes it possible to store part of the energy in one period and use it in another. The value of this shift depends on the specific site.

Own generation and energy from the grid

Photovoltaics can produce a surplus at a time when the company does not need it. A battery can store part of it for later own consumption.

With a product that has time-varying prices, charging from the grid can also be relevant. The principle is simple, but the result is not automatic: the lower price when charging must create sufficient value once the whole cycle is taken into account.

02

A price difference is not yet a saving.

Storage involves losses, and use affects the battery's service life. We also assess operating costs, any fees and other possible uses of the storage.

The aim is therefore not to charge and discharge with every price movement. We look for decisions that create a net economic benefit.

03

Sometimes it is better to keep energy for later.

The battery may be needed for an expected demand peak, vehicle charging or a backup reserve. An immediate reduction in grid draw may not be the best decision for the whole day.

EMS – Energy Management System can work with current data, expected consumption, generation and price conditions. It coordinates the individual functions within the power and capacity of the system.

Optimising your own operation is not a promise of trading revenue.

We distinguish savings in your own energy system from electricity trading and the provision of flexibility. Further market opportunities depend on specific technical, contractual and regulatory conditions.

We do not include unverified revenues in the design. We first assess what can be influenced directly at the customer's site.

Let's look at the whole year, not just one day.

We evaluate consumption, invoices, the price product, own generation and other needs. We take into account seasonality, working patterns and possible battery strategies. The result will be a comparison of their technical and economic effect.
