Dynamic tariff and home battery

It is not only how much you consume that matters. When you consume matters too.

With a dynamic price product, the price of electricity changes from period to period according to supply and market conditions. For a household, this can create room to shift consumption in time.

However, suitability depends on your consumption, your equipment and the specific price product. A dynamic tariff is not automatically the best choice for every home.

Assess options for time-based load control
01

First shift consumption, then the battery

An electric vehicle connected overnight does not have to start charging immediately. Hot water preparation can also have some time flexibility, as long as comfort and operating conditions are maintained.

A home battery adds the option of obtaining electricity in one period and using it later. However, not every shift creates a saving.

02

A price difference is not yet a benefit.

Losses, use of the battery's service life, available capacity, other household needs and the electricity supply terms must be taken into account.

The aim is not to charge and discharge as much as possible. Control should select the cases where using the battery makes sense.

03

Tomorrow's sun can change today's decision.

If you fully charge the battery from the grid overnight, it may have no room for PV surpluses in the morning. The same night-time price therefore need not lead to the same decision before a sunny day as before a cloudy one.

Depending on its capabilities, the system can take into account the generation forecast, consumption, heat demand, car charging and the reserve for outages.

04

A home should remain a home.

EMS – Energy Management System can coordinate these needs according to set priorities. It should not require you to constantly watch prices or reduce your comfort.

Seeing the price in an app is not enough. What matters is whether the system can link it to the household's real needs and supported devices.

Does your household have room for time-based control?

We look at consumption, photovoltaics, the battery, the electric vehicle, heating and the price product. We separate loads that must run at a specific time from those that can be shifted.

On this basis, we assess the potential for controlling your own consumption. This is not a promise of electricity trading or a guaranteed return.
