BESS for hotels

Guests do not see energy. They notice a lack of it immediately.

Rooms, kitchen, laundry, wellness, hot water and vehicle charging create different energy needs. Consumption varies with occupancy, weather and the operating schedule.

BESS – Battery Energy Storage System can be part of the solution. However, we do not assess a hotel only through an electrical battery.

01

Guest comfort is a limit, not something to save on.

Hot water, heating, cooling and smooth operation must meet the hotel's needs. Control looks for savings within these requirements.

We compare consumption with occupancy, operating patterns and individual equipment. We are interested in what can be shifted in time without reducing the quality of service.

02

Electricity, heat and cold

Photovoltaics can cover daytime consumption directly. Part of the suitable energy can be used to heat water or for other thermal storage. Only the remaining need to shift electricity is assessed for a battery.

The options for controlling hot water and wellness depend on technical and hygiene conditions. A larger battery is not necessarily the most efficient answer to every consumption need.

03

Car charging can wait. The morning departure cannot.

A guest who parks overnight may not need immediate charging at maximum power. Smart control can spread charging according to the available power and the departure time.

This makes it possible to limit charging overlapping with the evening restaurant, wellness or heating. The battery supplements the system where it brings additional value.

04

What must keep working during an outage?

We design backup for specific circuits and the required time. It does not have to cover the whole hotel. We include existing backup sources and the requirements of sensitive equipment in the assessment.

The backup function requires a suitable architecture. Energy reserved for an outage is also not normally available for other optimisation.

Energy should work in the background.

Depending on the technical possibilities, control can link photovoltaics, the battery, heating, hot water and charging. For the analysis, we need energy data, occupancy, equipment and planned development.

Guests should see the result: a comfortable room, hot water and a hotel that works.
