Every store has its own profile.
Consumption is affected by opening hours, cooling, footfall and weather. PV generation can overlap well with daytime consumption; a battery is therefore not necessarily needed everywhere.
We assess direct use of generation, surpluses, demand peaks and the options for controlling equipment. We include car park charging in the energy system of the whole store.
Let's find the right sites first.
For a larger chain, we can group sites by their energy characteristics and set investment priorities. Some will be suitable for BESS, others only after adding photovoltaics or adjusting load management.
The aim is not to put a battery in every store. The aim is to invest where the solution has appropriate value.
Pilot. Evaluation. Roll-out.
You can start with a representative group of sites. After the pilot is implemented, we compare the model with measured operation and use the findings at further sites.
This is not about copying one battery size. We standardise the assessment method but respect differences in consumption, photovoltaics, grid connections and equipment.
Local control, shared overview
EMS – Energy Management System can coordinate the equipment of a specific store. Depending on the solution, central monitoring can allow sites, results and technical status to be compared.
For backup power, we identify the critical circuits, for example cooling or operating systems. Backup must be part of the technical design; it cannot be assumed merely from the presence of a battery.
